KICK HIS ASS

Started this one Friday, spent today messing with it, as with the others, tweaking will come. :)

Poor Blue. Red always did hate you so...

I like how Blue's life is draining with each punch. I like the dazed or the "just trying to move" move once he's tackeld and on the ground. I like those details. It's subtle, and you should keep it that way but I think you can push it a bit more. Maybe get the legs in it too.

I think the tackle and the punches can be sped up a tad. It feels a bit floaty and could use some weight. Those punches can really get pushed. Extend that arm. Whenever I see a punch I think of "how to draw the Marvel way" and how there's a page in there showing how you can really push your posing.

I know you still have tweaks so maybe these comments are null and void. Nice to see some physical character interaction here!

Liking it a ton Don. I really like how the red guy steps into that first punch after the take down: it's like he can't get up fast enough to pound the blue guy into the ground.

Only thing I noticed was on the punches, especially the second one. I don't think he should ease into the contact: cut a couple of the frames as he approaches the contact frame, then slow down after he shoots past. It might make the impact feel heavier. Like Bob referenced How To Draw the Marvel Way, one of the other things they hint at is completely omitting the contact. You could get away with a huge antic and then a nice settle.

Looking sweet man. Nice to see you stepping up the output. There's gotta be a reason for all this animation all of a sudden. ;)

You have some nice animation studies there. You can off set some of the body timings to make it better. Nevertheless, good works!

Yo Don,
Awesome stuff dude. Nice weight on the tackle and fall. You've been working your ass off these last couple weeks. Oh yeah, on a side note. I miss your musk. I think after this is all over we should get an apartment together. Give everyone a hug for me.

Merry Christmas man.
