Chillie

I did this about 3 years ago, never got to fully develop this guy due to some file corruption! But I still have this early test I did one night, my sister made chillie when we were sharing an apt together, and I had her do a voice for the character after we ate our chillie, not the best animation in the world, But as with everything I do who cares, ITs always fun as hell, no matter how good it is! :)

So the only time I ever get any drawings done is when I take lil drawing breaks at meetings or at work, I really need to fit in more drawing time!

3d Alien

So not very creative but I decided even though I love the free rig that I have been using from Peter Starostin, I would make my own simple character to animate with. So here is the model, and hopefully I can give him some bones soon and animate him in my free time.

Paint test

So tonight after work I did a quick paint job on a render of my model, painted some eyes and freckles and hair just to see if i am gettin the look I want. Here is the quick paint test.

Glen Keane

So I spoke before on my blog about a drawing my father recieved from Glen Keane, Back when My Dad worked at Atari I guess he ran into Glen Keane ( I think Glen was visiting with Atari) Anyway he did three drawings for myself and my two sisters. This is the one he drew for me. For years we kept the drawings in our encyclopedia under Disney. We were so poor back in those days and could'nt frame them until later. It now hangs in my moms place, for safe keeping. In so many ways these sketches got me really into what drawing really was, between these drawnings and my dad teaching me how to draw Popeye, I have been hooked! So basically I thought Id share the sketch. And Glen if your out there and see this, drop me a line man! :)

To deliver! Would'nt it be nice to have that everyday! This ghostly old men of inspiration that root you on in any and every situation! I love trainers!

Interlochen

I had the pleasure of watching an old friend get married in Northern Michigan this past weekend. During this trip I was reunited with a few of my classmates who attended this wonderful school called Interlochen Arts academy. I can't put into words the kind of impact this school had and has on me. It was a pleasure to see these talented people who are now women with husbands, and Men with wives. I knew those guys as sqeaky voiced boys who are now men, and girls who you could totally see the women they would grow to become. And to actually see it was a treat for me. I alway get a refill of imagination and artistic fufillment when I go back there. And watching my friend get married filled me with a new sense of inspiration and excitment. To actually see her in love and starting this new journey was a thrill. I love you Interlochen peeps! Its more obvious to me than ever that its a bond that cannot, will not, no chance in hell, ever break. I am greatful and lucky to have that.

Working things out

Darwin The Dreamer

My first children's book, a work in progress. Premise is about a little blind boy who creates wonderful creatures from his imagination, even though he is blind he can see his creations because they came from his imagination. Moral: A Child is both imaginative and creative, and with such a mind, they can turn their dreams into reality.

Is Glen Keane out there?

When I was a child my father worked for Atari, doing robotics somehow he was introduced to a young artist by the name Glen Keane, He did 3 very rough drawings of Disney characters obviously he drew Donald duck for me, saying " hello Donald I like your name" So Glen if your out there and remember this, Id love for you to verify it, So I know that my dad didn't lie to me after all these years. :)
